How often did it happen that business-internals, which should only be known by a few people, reached the public either
knowingly or not? The Microsoft® Windows Rights management Services (RMS) stands for the continuous protection against unrestricted
access of those sensible documents.
Windows Rights management is an integral Office Professional and Windows Server 2003 component since the end of 2003.
RMS enables companies to determine who is able to open, edit, print or forward documents; even an expiration date is configurable
for these data. Therefore, after the defined timeline, the content is not visible anymore, not even for formerly authorized users.
Through recall-lists and renewal-intervals information can be protected against e.g. retired employees.
Next to all the advantages the integration of RMS needs a lot of manual action. This takes additional costs and prohibits a
successful implementation of standardized security guidelines. In contrast the RMS Automated Rights Assignment (RMS ARA) guarantees
by Information Rights Management – through access to accordingly interfaces inside RMS – a wide automation and simultaneously an
optimized compliance of business security-guidelines. A system like RMS ARA, developed by TOP TECHNOLOGIES
and
HanseVision, encrypts files automatically by the use of templates. These files
can be copied - or drawn by drag and drop - into the configurable directory topology of the application. Furthermore the
application is able to send the according files per email or store them at a specific location.
Your advantages at a glance
-
Easy automation of RMS
-
Supervision of whole directory topologies
-
Automatic encryption and rights management per directory
-
